Summary
Joanne Mallari teaches courses in first-year writing and creative writing at the 91ԭƬ. As the 2025-2027 David H. Fenimore Distinguished Teaching Fellow, she collaborates with the First-Generation Student Center to remove academic and social barriers to success in higher education. She aims to increase mentorship for first-generation college students by leading faculty trainings, developing academic success workshops for the Upward Bound Programs and offering a first-gen ENG 102 course for the Core Writing Program.
Currently, she is working on a poetry chapbook that explores the expansive potential of aro/ace desires.
