Food Truck Areas

Approved food truck locations on campus

Food Truck Areas are specific outdoor spaces that can be reserved or scheduled for a short term period for the use of a mobile food facility.

  1. Canada/Nye Hall:Plaza between Canada and Nye Residential Halls
  2. Howler Plaza: Concrete exterior plaza northwest of Pennington Student Achievement Center (Howler Plaza)
  3. Mathewson-IGT KC Lawn: Thoroughfare west of Mathewson-IGT Knowledge Center
  4. Gardner Family Court:Exterior plaza west of William Pennington Engineering building
  5. Thompson Building: Paved courtyard between Thompson and Frandsen Humanities buildings
  6. Peavine Hall Alley: Alley way between Continuing Education Building and Peavine Residential Hall
  7. Jensen Plaza:Tan parking lot north of Mackay Stadium
  8. Effie Mona Mack: Concrete thoroughfare west of Effie Mona Mack Building

Approval requirements

Food trucks require advance approval through Scheduling Services. Submit an event request and provide the business name of the food truck.

Scheduling Services will verify the vendor’s documentation on file during the approval process. Vendors must maintain:

  1. Sponsorship by a University Group (UAM 5,302)
  2. Current commercial insurance (requirements)
  3. State business license
  4. State health license
    1. You may look up vendors who have current health licenses on the . Select "Environmental Health Section" for the Business Unit and "Food Establishment (Mobile Units)" for the Credential Type and select Search.

If University funds are used to procure the food truck, the vendors are responsible for completing their registration through the  and maintaining an active registration.

If documentation is missing or expired, the vendor must submit updated documentation before approval can be granted. This may delay event approval.

The vendor will be provided with a parking pass, which must be displayed on the vehicle.
